Comfort flooring provides a soft, cushioned surface that reduces foot and joint fatigue in the feet, legs, knees, hips, and back. This can be particularly important if you work standing or sit for long periods of time, such as in manufacturing settings, health labs and pharmacies, or transportation stations. These mats can also help reduce the risk of injuries caused by slips and falls when wet, such as on oily or slippery floors.
There are many different types of comfort flooring, including polyurethane, cork, ecork, and more. Each one offers its own unique benefits and is suitable for different applications. Polyurethane is a hardwearing material that can withstand heavy traffic and chemicals, while delivering excellent abrasion resistance. Cork is a renewable and environmentally friendly material that is harvested from the bark of the cork oak tree. This process does not damage the tree and allows it to regenerate after each harvest, with the new bark growing in place of the old. Cork is also a very quiet floor, and it can be used in places where noise reduction is desired.
Another type of comfort floor is a seamless resin floor, sometimes known as liquid vinyl or PU Floor. These systems provide a high level of comfort underfoot and are increasingly popular in hospitals, healthcare facilities, doctors’ surgeries, and commercial offices. They are easy to clean and hygienic, with no weak points where bacteria can harbour. They are also highly durable, and they can be overlaid at the end of their life-cycle.
Greatmats is proud to offer a wide selection of top-performing comfort floor options, including interlocking mats that are quick and easy to install and keep clean. These mats feature hidden interlocks, anti-fatigue properties, and can be positioned in 2-inch increments to fit any space or configuration. We even have a grease-resistant mat that is designed for areas with high amounts of oil and other chemicals. These mats can resist petroleum-based fluids and are durable enough to withstand 24/7 shift operations.
Our vebroflex range of comfort floors has a very strong impact and abrasion resistance, with a textured finish to improve safety by reducing the risk of slips and falls. These floor systems are UV-protected and come with a choice of decorative images to suit your environment. They also feature a high level of elasticity and are ideal for high-traffic areas. In addition, the vebroflex Bounce system is very quiet, reducing impact sound transfer by up to 3 dB.
All of our comfort flooring is available with a choice of slat formats, from Classic to Large and Kingsize. These slats are made of eco-friendly and sustainable materials, with a layer of high-performance granules and the highest level of abrasion resistance. In addition, the slats are glued to a flexible base mat that increases abrasion and impact resistance. The result is a floor that offers a high degree of comfort and safety, with an impact and abrasion resistance class E (in accordance with DIN EN 14004). The vebroflex Bounce system can also be fitted with a rubber matting to further enhance its acoustic performance, reducing impact sound transfer by up to 20 dB.
